Saxophone Player · Artistic Researcher
Francesca Fantini is a saxophone player and artistic researcher whose work moves between contemporary music, free improvisation and embodied performance.
Her practice explores the relationship between sound, body, space and perception, moving across performance, experimentation and artistic research.
She performs both as a soloist and in collaborative projects, working with contemporary composers, improvisers and interdisciplinary artists.
Her artistic practice is rooted in contemporary music and free improvisation, with a particular interest in extended saxophone techniques, experimental performance practices and the physical dimension of sound.
Alongside performance, Francesca develops artistic research projects investigating questions of embodiment, listening, gender representation and the role of the performer within contemporary musical practices.
Francesca's research is developed through practice-led methodologies, combining performance, experimentation, writing and critical reflection.
Her work has been presented in concerts, festivals, workshops, artistic residencies and research contexts across Europe.
